Sweden, Paraguay clash: WIN or GO HOME?

Both Sweden and Paraguay will be looking to recover from dismal openers when they face each other at the Olympiastadion in Group B on Thursday evening.

Sweden, who were held to an embarrassing draw with Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday, will have top goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson back from a concussion, and it looks like the attack-minded Kim Källström will start.

The Swedes were bitten by poor finishing and great goalkeeping by Shaka Hislop in their last game, and will name a mostly unchanged lineup.

Paraguay were beaten by England on an early own goal on Saturday and will be without starting goalkeeper Justo Villar for the rest of the tournament with a knee injury, meaning Aldo Bobadilla will start.

Needing more attack, they will also implement pacy wing-back Jorge Núñez with Delio Toledo out with a thigh injury.

Head to head:

The two nations first met at the 1950 World Cup in Brazil with a 2-2 draw, and Paraguay won the only other encounter in a friendly four years ago, 2-1.

Probable line-ups:

Sweden: Isaksson, Nilsson, Mellberg, Lucic, Edman, Linderoth, Ljungberg, Wilhelmsson, Källström, Ibrahimovic, Larsson.

Paraguay: Bobadilla, Caniza, Cáceres, Gamarra, Núñez, Bonet, Acuña, Paredes, Riveros, Santa Cruz, Valdez.
