WORLD CUP PREVIEW: ENGLAND STAGE OF ELIMINATION BETTING
England are 12/5 to exit the World Cup in the second round, according to Ladbrokes. The bookies, who are 9/2 about the Three Lions faltering at the group stages, go 3/1 that the side will go out in the quarter finals.
England, should they qualify are set to meet either the winners or runners up of Group A which includes hosts Germany and old foes Poland.
Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: "We think the 2nd round could prove to be a problem for Sven's men. The potential clash with the hosts, who are desperately looking for revenge for their 5-1 Munich mauling, could be a problem.
"England should be good enough to qualify from their group. But then the real test begins. "
Perennial under achievers Spain are 11/2 to exit the competition in the group stages. Whilst Australia, despite their host of premiership stars, are 1/3 to exit in the same round.
